We have provided audio engineering services for pre-recorded and live streams of jazz and classical music from Maduro Music Lounge, pre-recording for live streams for private jazz ensembles, a/v recordings for ABRSM Performance Grade Examinations, and a/v recordings for the Concordia String Quartet.
We prefer preservation of dynamics over loudness. Post-processing is often limited to pan adjustments, noise removal, and some judicious EQ. We usually do not apply any compression or limiting, but if we do then just enough is used to glue the mix together. Our output streams and files have the correct loudness level for Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Apple Podcast, Amazon Alexa, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Netflix, HBO, and Disney+.
The basic rate is $100 per hour, with a minimum charge of $200. The clock starts when we arrive at the location, and stops when we pack up and leave.
Live streams are always recorded. You can have the 2-track stereo 16-bit/44.1kHz down-mix for free (one week lead time).

Microphones
We have an assortment of microphones from Samar Audio, Audio-Technica, RØDE, Shure, Electro-Voice, and also Yamahiko piano pickups. We favour simple coincident-pair microphone techniques for stereo recording, for which we typically use a Samar VL373A active stereo ribbon mic, or a matched pair of Samar TF10 condenser mics.
